A sustainable future begins here
In an ambitious effort to rethink energy use in Brazil, Planet Smart City is piloting innovative solutions in Smart City Laguna and Smart City Aquiraz. This project is one of the selected pilots under the Digital Demand-Driven Electricity Networks (3DEN) Initiative—launched by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, in collaboration with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
- Global Vision: Setting a precedent for renewable energy uptake in affordable housing worldwide leveraging digital services.
- Location: Smart City Laguna and Smart City Aquiraz, Brazil, integrating global innovation with local needs.
- Premises: 100+ homes and 1 innovation hub equipped with digital energy solutions.
- Energy Solutions: Photovoltaic panels (170+ kWp, energy storage systems 50+kWh, behavioural nudging modules, optimization algorithms, and digital energy management).
- Community Impact: Fostering sustainable living and the spreading of energy literacy.
- External Collaboration: In partnership with EOT – Energy of Things, leveraging digital and AI solutions.
- Internal Collaboration: Planet Holding Ltd., Planet Holding Ltda., Planet Idea, and Djungle.
The D2FX Project stands as a testament to Planet Smart City’s unwavering commitment to untap the unexpressed potential of digital solutions for energy for the betterment of communities. Focused on integrating cutting-edge, sustainable energy solutions in Smart City Laguna and Aquiraz, this project demonstrated tangible improvements in residents’ quality of life and offered promising contributions toward deferring electricity grid retrofitting. It serves as a beacon of innovation in affordable housing. By seamlessly blending advanced renewable energy technologies with the daily lives of the community, the D2FX Project might become the blueprint and standard for similar projects worldwide.
